EDCT 556 – Technology, Pedagogy, and Society

These were the goals for the course:

  1. To recognize and discuss the ways that technologies are entangled in issues of power, privilege, identity, and agency (PEg).
  2. To understand how learning and technology are situated and articulated within complex sociocultural issues such as age, gender, race/ethnicity, social class, sexual orientation, language, and social capital and its intersections (PEb).
  3. To reflect on our personal and professional experiences within the changing media landscape and analyze how these experiences are drenched in the social (Dc).
  4. To summarize and critique key sociocultural concepts and educational models in the field of digital media and education and as related to technological access and usage (PEe, Dc, De).
