EDCT 560 – Instructional Design Technology

EDCT 560 – Instructional Design Technology – Fall 2015

In this course, we focused on educational technology and the pedagogical implications of teaching and the integration of technology into contemporary learning environments that are designed to align with state and national standards. Our instructional design and practical application of technology were grounded within accepted learning theories and trends of new media technologies. Each class combined key readings, demonstrations, practice, group projects, and discussions with foundations framed upon appropriate learning theory, an informed choice of which instructional design model best aligns with our epistemology, and the practical applications of technology in an effort to reflect and take action in terms of educational standards, learning outcomes, and various learning environments including virtual learning environments or e-learning. Much of this work was explored through collaborative means with ID teams who researched and constructed a (mostly or all) web-based environment for teaching and learning.
